bringing joy back into parenting
Five steps to the EBBC process:
01 — Explore the function and start tracking.
All behaviours are driven by a few motivational forces. Lets start untangling your loved one’s behaviour and getting to the bottom of what is going on for them. Our motto is taken from Dr Ross Greene ‘Kids do well if they can’. This means if the people we love aren’t thriving, it’s because something is in their way- let’s figure out what it is and remove the barrier!
02 — Implement your strategy.
Now that we’ve analysed the motivation and the data, lets put a strategy in place that gets to the heart of your child’s concerning behaviours. We use strategies that can be built into the routines you already have embedded in your lives- placing heavier demands on families who are already overstretched is never in an EBBC plan.
03 — Become an observer.
Behaviour is deeply responsive to environmental factors, being able to ‘read’ how your strategies are supporting your loved one wil become second nature.
04 — Understanding Motivation.
We are all motivated by diferent things, unlocking our own and our loved one’s motivation is key to improving quality of life.
05 —Reflect, Refine and Find Joy.
Disabled people, their families and they team that supports them, deserve the ENJOY the time they spend together. This is why, Finding the Joy is the goal at EBBC. It’s not just, living, it’s not just functioning, its enjoying life together!.
